Group therapy helps teens give and receive support while learning from each other and their therapist by discussing the issues they have in common. As a teen, in group you will connect with other teens who understand you and what you are going through!
2017 Summer Group and Retreat
Summer Art Therapy Group: Empowering The Spirit Through Art
Are you looking to build confidence? Would you like to learn more about art as a coping technique? Are you interested in using art to engage your creativity?
Through this art therapy group, you will increase self-esteem, explore the many benefits of art-making as a tool for self-soothing, and have fun with other teens in a creative setting. This is not an art lesson and you will not be required to do specific tasks. Additionally, no artistic talent is needed to participate!
This group will be available four Wednesdays in July (7/5, 7/12, 7/19, and 7/26). You can attend one or more groups. Each art therapy group is $150 and includes all materials. If you pre-register for all 4 groups, you will receive a $100 discount. Groups will be held at Hidden Talent Art Studio at 1375 Blossom Hill Road, Suite 17 in San Jose. Please wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty.
Teen Inner Strength Retreat: July 21-23, 2017 (10-4 daily)
Are emotional challenges getting in the way of you being your best self? Do you want to feel more prepared for life's difficulties? Would you like to reset and recharge for the upcoming school year?
The Teen Inner Strength Retreat is led and designed by licensed therapists to help teens heal from past negative experiences, take steps towards overcoming emotional challenges, harness their inner strength, and become empowered to face life's challenges with more confidence. This 3-day retreat will teach you coping skills that will help you throughout your life, and will allow you to truly understand that you are not alone. Therapeutic activities will include art expression, experiential healing, guided meditation, and self-reflection.
This retreat is for teens ages 13-18 and will be held in the South Bay. The registration deadline is July 7, 2017. The cost is $1,200 per participant. Materials, lunches, and snacks will be included.
Adventures for Teens with Social Anxiety
Do you feel like your anxiety is holding you back? Are you wanting to learn skills to reduce your anxiety in social situations? Would you like to have fun adventures with other teens?
Join us the second Saturday of each month to experience exciting adventures with a supportive group. Make new friends and be with teens who understand you. Learn how to lessen your anxiety while having fun!

Adventures for Teens with Social Anxiety is held the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9:00-12:00pm (time may vary based on activity). Registration is requested one week before each event, at which time you will be give the location and activity information. This group is open to teens ages 13-18. It is $250 per group, plus the cost of the activity when applicable.
DBT Skills Group: Co-Ed High School Age
Do you have trouble controlling your emotions or behaviors? Do you have mood swings that seem overwhelming or out of control? Do you want to control your emotions, instead of having your emotions control you?
Gain skills to better control your attention, emotional responses, and behavior and learn how to improve your problem solving and decision making skills all while increasing your ability to communicate effectively with others.
The DBT Skills group is a 4-month structured program. It is composed of four four-week skills modules. Each module includes 2 teen groups per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:45pm and 2 parent groups per module on every other Saturday from 9:00-10:15am. Each four-week module is $995. New members can join at the beginning of each module.
DBT Lite Group: Co-Ed High School Age
Do you want to continue to practice using your DBT skills in everyday life? Do you want to grow and develop your skills with peers who understand what you are going through? Do you want to ensure that you will continue using your skills long-term?
Reinforce the DBT skills you have already learned, continue to practice applying these skills in your day-to-day life in meaningful ways, and foster positive relationships with group members that share similar experiences.
Our Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Lite group is an ongoing weekly group that focuses on continuing to grow and develop the skills taught in more intensive DBT Skills groups. This group is intended for those who have completed a DBT Skills program. It meets on Tuesdays from 7:00pm-8:15pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested.
Destress: The Anti-Anxiety Group - High School Girls
Do you know you worry and try to stop, but can’t? Do you want to fit in, but worry about what others think of you? Does your anxiety sometimes prevent you from trying new things?
Gain an understanding of your fears and worries, discover healthy ways to respond to your anxiety, and learn to change your thinking and lower your stress.
This is an ongoing weekly group. It meets on Thursdays from 7:00pm-8:15pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested.
Self-Esteem and Body Image: High School Girls
Do you worry about how you look? Do you compare yourself to others? Do you want to feel better about yourself?
Increase your self-confidence, learn to feel good about who you are, and know that you are not alone.
This is an ongoing weekly group. It meets on Tuesdays from 4:00pm-5:15pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested.
Friendships & Self-Esteem: High School Girls
Do you feel like you don't fit it? Do you wonder if others accept the real you? Do you know and accept the real you?
Gain confidence, learn who the real you is and how to feel good about yourself, and know that you have worth.
This is an ongoing weekly group. It meets on Wednesdays from 7:00pm-8:15pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested.
Girl Power: Self-Esteem Group: Middle School Girls
Do you sometimes feel awkward around other people? Do you want to gain self-confidence? Do you want to learn how to accept and love yourself?
Create a positive self-image, increase your self-esteem, and be a role model for younger girls.
This is an ongoing weekly group. A group for 6th and 7th graders meets on Mondays from 5:30-6:45pm. A group for 8th and 9th graders meets on Sundays from 6:00pm-7:15pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested.
Boys to Men: Self-Confidence, Independence & Responsibility - High School Boys
Do you ever doubt yourself? Do you sometimes feel like everyone else is ten steps ahead? Is it hard to talk to your friends about what’s going on?
Increase your self-confidence and believe in yourself, develop skills to better communicate what you are thinking and feeling, and learn how to help yourself and others.
This is an ongoing weekly group. It meets on Thursdays from 7:00pm-8:15pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested. This group is held at our sister center, Family Therapy Center.
Friendships, Anxiety & Social Skills: Middle School Boys
Do you have a hard time making new friends? Do you compare yourself to others? Do you want to feel happier and more confident?
Develop skills to get along better with others, improve your self-esteem, and learn new ways to talk to and interact with your peers.
This is an ongoing weekly group. It meets on Thursdays from 5:30pm-6:45pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested. This group is held at our sister center, Family Therapy Center.
P.R.I.D.E. Support Group: All Genders High School Group (Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, Empowerment)
Have you experienced challenges with your peers because of your sexual orientation or gender? Do you wish you had a stronger sense of community? Does your sexual identity keep you from fully expressing yourself?
Increase your self-confidence, give and receive support from peers who understand you, and express yourself freely in a no-judgment space.
This is an ongoing weekly group. It meets on Sundays from 6:00pm-7:15pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested.
Anxiety, Depression & Self-Harm: Co-Ed Ages 14-19
Do you want to give and receive support from peers who understand you? Do you want to develop deeper relationships with others? Do you want to grow and shape your own identity?
Develop skills to manage emotional ups and downs and receive support and speak openly in a judgment-free zone.
This is an ongoing weekly group. It meets on Sundays from 7:30pm-8:45pm. It is $85 per session. An 8-week commitment is requested.
